A message from our President
Welcome to the San Diego County Chapter of the National Latino Peace Officers Association. We are one of the most active and oldest chapters in the nation. Since the chapter was first founded as “Placa Social” and through today, we have not forgotten where we came from and those that made it possible for the chapter and members to be successful.
As you view the different sections of our website, you will notice the many community events our chapter works all year long. That is what our chapter is about—-community involvement. We are proud to be an ALL VOLUNTEER organization with NO paid staff. The vast majority of our members work full-time jobs and then commit themselves to hours of work within the San Diego County Community. In the past several years, our chapter has made a difference in the lives of thousands of families in North, South, East, and Central San Diego County during our Holiday Food distribution in December. We have awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to deserving high school and college students.
Hundreds of young people have been provided a great Thanksgiving Dinner and Bicycles. We have volunteered hundreds of hours and donated monies to assist injured and fallen officer’s families.
Of course, we do have our relaxing and sociable activities. The Mother’s Day Brunch is our time to honor Mom and family. Our golf tournament is more competitive and has many great prizes. And the “Battle of the Badges” is work mixed with competitive excitement and the camaraderie of GREAT friends.
Please consider joining our chapter and becoming an integral part of a great organization. If you are already a member, THANK YOU for your support and commitment. Also, THANK YOU for the honor of allowing me to be your President for the next two years.
Hope to see you at an upcoming event or the next General Meeting,
